Finding a Happy Clean Place

So I've been on a real kick lately to keep my house cleaner. A friend of mine turned me on to http://www.flylady.net/ and it's been a real help. I like that each week you concentrate of decluttering one area of you house so that you don't get overwhelmed. This week is the master bedroom and I got the dresser cleaned off last night and the nightstands are tonight. It's one thing at a time. I've kept my kitchen and bathrooms clean - spotless - since Saturday and it's actually not that hard. I have never been a huge fan of cleaning, but this makes it a little easier to manage. I am looking forward to decluttering my life one room at a time. I'm really scared to make it to the spare bedroom though, so much has piled up in there!
I am working hard on my knitting and I have two blocks done so far which is really a relief.
Here are pictures of my two blocks so far:

I'm not sure what design #3 will be but I think that I'll work on my Felted Candy Corn wreath that I want to make for myself. I also bought some material to begin making Christmas presents for family members and such, seems like I have a lot to get done prior to Christmas getting here but with my new found way to clean the house I should have PLENTY of time!

More of the Same

My first two colors picked for my afghan block exchange. I am in the winter circle, we're doing all icy colors. I can't wait to get started!

Long Days

Work has been irritating lately to say the least, I've been working alone as my assistant hasn't been able to come to work for various reasons the past two months. I find myself not wanting to work and doing things like blogging or devoting all my time to ravelry and searching for yarn sales. I really need to find some focus! On a different note, I've been knitting a ton lately and I have really started to enjoy it more than I did before, I supposed that is what happens when you spend half of your day shopping for yarn and discussing yarn. I'm working on a block for my afghan exchange group right now but once that is done I am beginning a Felted Candy Corn Wreath. I haven't designed my pattern yet, but I bought the yarn, it's quite yummy. I put up 6 jars of pickles the other night and canned the tomato harvest from the previous week. It's starting to get cold here and I'm not sure how much longer I can get good food from the yard. I really neglected the garden this year and will have to devote some time this fall to getting it worked over well for the winter and ready for spring. I'm thinking about trying some potatoes over the winter...we'll see. I've got Zuch's on the counter begging to be used, perhaps this evening I'll make some bread.
